Notes
- Preschool apps are excellent at what they do. If your child is in a centre, keep using the centre’s app. Yearkeep runs the hours the centre does not.
- Nanny log apps track diapers, feeds, hours, and pay. Yearkeep does not do pay. If that is your main need, a nanny log is the right tool, and some families use both.
- Photo journals share photos privately and print books. Yearkeep’s portfolio does that as a by-product of a plan; if you only want photos, a journal is simpler.
- Activity apps give one parent ideas by age. Yearkeep’s library is similar in spirit, but the point is the shared plan, the whole family on it, the language budget, and the review.
- Child apps put the child on a screen. We do not, on principle. Nothing in Yearkeep is for the child to tap, except a picture board used with a parent.
- Pricing and features of other products change; this page was checked in September 2026 from public listings. Tell us if something is out of date.
FAQ
Can I use Yearkeep with a preschool app?
Yes. Add the preschool as a class in Outside so it sits on the same calendar, and let the centre keep its own app. Yearkeep runs the home hours.
Does Yearkeep track the nanny’s hours and pay?
No. It is a plan and a log for the child’s day, not payroll. Use a nanny log or a spreadsheet for pay.
Can I import photos from a photo journal?
Not yet. You can upload photos from the camera roll in batches at the end of the day.
Is Yearkeep an educational app for my toddler?
No. The child does not use it. It is for the adults.
