Why helper-first
The person who is there at 8am is a first-class user. The curriculum is useless if only the parent can run it.
Most family products are written for the parent who bought them. The parent reads the pedagogy. The helper is asked to “follow the plan” through a group chat.
That fails at 8am. The helper has the child. The parent has a commute. The language of the morning is often the helper’s language, not the curriculum author’s.
Yearkeep treats the helper’s phone as the instrument.

- Child-facing language on the block is separate — often a heritage language the helper is asked to speak.
- Coaching happens on Sunday, not in the middle of the work cycle.
If the helper cannot log a block, the product did not ship. A beautiful plan that only the parent understands is a PDF.
Parents still own the family: invites, export, deletion, the language budget. Helper-first is not parent-absent. It is honesty about who is in the room.
