Run your first morning from Today
Open Today, read the current block, do it, mark it Done, and capture one photo and one quote. One morning, end to end, in about two hours of ordinary life.
By the end of this tutorial you will have run one morning from Today: three blocks marked, one photo, one quote, and a glance at what the day looks like to the other adults. It assumes setup is finished and a schedule exists.
1. Open Today#
Sign in. Today is the first screen for every adult. On a phone it is the first tab; on a desktop it is under Run the day.
At the top you may see banners: a haze or heat notice, and for parents a list of Unlogged core blocks. Below them is the block that is happening now, expanded.
2. Read the current block#
The expanded card shows:
- A status chip: Now, Not logged, or Upcoming.
- The block name, the adult who owns it, and Core block if it is one.
- What to do: a short script, and speak to her in followed by the language the child should hear.
- Materials, each marked have or need.
- Prompt cards on book blocks.
Read the script. Set out the materials if the card names a tray.
3. Do the block, then mark it#
When the block is over, tap Done, Partly, or Skipped.
- On an outdoor block, a sheet asks for minutes and a place. Use a preset or type a number.
- On a book block, a sheet asks Which book?. Pick from the shelf or choose Another book / oral story.
- On a work cycle block, a sheet asks for Engagement as a star rating, with Ignored the tray if she did not touch it.
The card now shows by your name and the time.
4. Capture one photo#
On the same card, tap Photo. Take or choose a photo of the work, not a posed face. Add a one-line caption if you like and save. The toast offers Undo for eight seconds.
5. Capture one quote#
Tap She said. Type exactly what she said, in the script she used. The language is detected; change it if the guess is wrong. Add a word of Context if it helps. Tap save. Any new word appears later in the New-word inbox on the Language page.
6. Scan the rest of the day#
Scroll down. Under the weekday and its theme (for example "Wednesday · Nature day") is the whole timeline. Each row shows time, block, owner, language, and status. Tap any row to expand it.

7. Parents: close the day#
In the evening, Today shows Tomorrow's plan in one sentence and a Bedtime: Daily Plan-Do-Review card with the number of highlights pre-filled. Tap Open to pick one to three. It takes about two minutes.
You are done when#
Three blocks show a status and a name, one photo and one quote exist for the morning, and the stats strip shows outdoor minutes.
