Your first day on duty

This page is for you, the person who is with the child for part of the day. By the end you will have opened the app in your language, done one block, and added one photo. You do not need to write anything.

The parents send you a link. Tap it. You see Join and the family's name.

  1. Type Your name if you want. It is optional.
  2. Tap Join.

You are signed in on this phone for 90 days. You do not need a password.

2. Choose your language#

On the first screen, pick your language from the list. There are 19 to choose from. This changes every button and message.

To change it later, tap Me and look under Settings.

3. Land on Today#

Today opens by itself. The block that is happening now is already open. You see:

  • The name of the block and the time.
  • What to do: two lines.
  • speak to her in: the language the child should hear from you.
  • The materials, if any.

Do the block. Play, narrate what she does, wait.

4. Tap Done#

When the block is over, tap Done. If you did only some of it, tap Partly. If you did not do it, tap Skipped. That is your log. No report.

Sometimes a small question follows:

  • Outdoor: how many minutes. Tap a number.
  • Book: which book. Tap the book.
  • Work cycle: how engaged she was. Tap a star.

5. Add a photo#

Tap Photo on the block. Take a photo of the tray, the tower, or the mud. Not her face, unless the parents ask for it. Tap save.

6. If she said something#

Tap She said. Type the words in the language she used. Tap save.

7. If something worries you#

Tap the + button, then Flag for parents. Write one line, add a photo if it helps, and send. The parents are told now. Nobody else sees it.

What else you will see#

  • Playbook tab: short cards on reading with her, what to do in a tantrum, what is a risk and what is a hazard.
  • Me tab: your language, text size, low-data mode, and the four-week checklist the parents set up for you.
  • Thanks! and Seen under your entries when a parent has looked.
  • Offline — entries will sync later at the top when there is no signal. Keep going. Your entries send later.

You are done when#

One block shows Done with your name, and one photo is saved.

Next time, open Today again. The next block is already there.
