Capture without signal and check the sync queue
Today and capture work from the phone's own copy of the data. Entries queue and send when the signal returns.
Goal: keep logging on a walk, in a lift, or on a slow connection. Any adult.
What works offline#
- Today, the timeline, and the block cards, from the last sync.
- The capture sheet: photo, she said, block done, mood, sleep and nap, outdoor, observation, concern.
- Portfolio and Library photos you have already opened.
Plan, Progress, Review, and Coach need a connection.
What you will see#
- A banner: Offline — entries will sync later, with the number pending.
- An hourglass next to entries that are saved on the phone but not yet sent.
- In Day-to-day mode, a pending chip with the queued count.
When you are back online#
Sync runs on its own: when the connection returns, when you open the app, and every minute in the background. Nothing to tap.
Check the queue#
On Me:
- Queued for sync shows how many entries are waiting.
- Couldn't sync lists anything the server refused, with Retry and Discard.
- Pending full-size photos shows photos waiting for Wi-Fi in low-data mode, with Upload now.
Install the app#
Add Yearkeep to the phone's home screen from the browser menu. It opens on Today, full screen, and keeps working offline. When a new version is ready, a bar says A new version of Yearkeep is ready with Reload.
FAQ
Can I lose an entry?
No. A capture writes the entry, its photo, and the outgoing message to the phone in one step, all or nothing. It stays until it has been sent and confirmed.
Why does an entry show an hourglass?
It is saved on the phone and waiting to send. The hourglass disappears when the server confirms it.
