Invite a co-parent, grandparent, relative, or helper

Goal: add another adult to the family with the right role. Only the account owner can do this, and only after confirming their email.

Steps#

1. Go to Settings › Adults, or open Setup › Adults during onboarding.
2. Under Invite someone, choose Who they are: Parent / guardian, Partner, Grandparent, Relative, Friend, Helper, or Other. For Other, type What to call them.
3. Choose What they can do:
   • Full access for a co-parent. Everything you can do except inviting adults and privacy settings.
   • Day-to-day for a grandparent, relative, friend, or helper who runs part of the day. Today, logging, and the playbook.
   • Highlights for grandparents and distant family. A weekly highlights link and stories only.
4. For Full access, type an Email and tap Send invite. The person receives a sign-in link.
5. For Day-to-day or Highlights, leave Simple phone ticked for anyone who wants a simpler phone (bigger text, low-data images, voice-to-text on their device) and tap Create invite link. Copy the link and send it by any messaging app. The person taps it, types a name if they wish, and is signed in on that device for 90 days.

Afterwards#

• Pending invites lists each invite with its role and expiry. Tap Revoke to cancel one.
• Once someone has joined, edit their Display name, Who they are, Color, and, as owner, What they can do. Deactivate removes them and signs their devices out.
• The What they can do table on the same page shows the capability matrix.

Variations#

• A grandparent who lives with you and runs part of the day should be Day-to-day, not Highlights.
• A Day-to-day adult who wants to sign in by email on a second device needs an email invite; ask the owner to create a new invite with an email.
