How-to guides
Use the coach
Read grounded suggestions, accept or send one to the adult on duty, ask what the evidence says, translate, and check language balance.

Goal: a small next step, grounded in your own logs. Parents only.
Suggestions#
- Go to Coach. Under Suggestions, each card has a type (Invitation, Coaching point, Balance, Project extension, Book) and based on chips naming the entries it used.
- Tap Accept to apply it (an invitation goes onto the plan; a coaching point goes to the week and is sent to the adult on duty in their language), Not now to dismiss, or Send to {name} to forward it.
- Tap Refresh to ask for this week's suggestions. They are also prepared automatically on Sunday morning.
Tools#
- Evidence Q&A: ask "What does the evidence say about phonics at 3?" The answer has four parts: Evidence, Steelman, Strongest critique, Design decision, with citations from the curated research.
- Balance this week: the language minutes logged so far and any drift.
Chat#
Type in Ask Coach. Starter prompts: prompts for a book, translate this, draft a coaching point, balance check. Answers stream and cite entries. Follow-up chips suggest the next question.
Extend a project#
From a project page, tap Extend (Coach). The chat opens with the project pre-filled.
Switches#
Settings › Privacy: the Coach (AI) master switch and one switch per feature. The footer of the coach page repeats the guardrails: never diagnoses, never rewards or punishments, minimum data per feature.
FAQ
What can I turn off?
The whole coach, or each feature: translation, book prompts, weekly suggestions and coaching drafts, evidence answers. Turning the coach off deletes stored chats and suggestions.
Does the coach see names?
No. Names are replaced with placeholders such as the child or the parent before any text leaves the server.
