Set notification rules and enable push

Goal: the right reminder, to the right adult, on the right channel. Parents; each adult enables push on their own device.

Enable push on this device#

  1. Go to Settings › Notifications (parents) or ask a parent; Day-to-day adults enable from the browser prompt when the app asks.
  2. Under This device, tap Enable notifications on this device and allow the browser prompt.
  3. Tap Send test to check.

Push arrives even when the app is closed and opens the right screen when tapped.

Set rules per adult#

Each adult has a card listing their rules. For each rule:

  • Toggle Enabled or Disabled.
  • Tick channels: In-app (always on), Web push, Email, Telegram where available.
  • For timed rules, change the time.

Parents' rules include the unlogged-core nudge at 14:00, the bedtime review at 19:40, the Sunday review at 17:00, the monthly review, the birthday review two weeks ahead, class reviews, playdate ageing, the morning haze check, the Monday book nudge, and the auto-plan proposal on Sunday morning. Day-to-day adults' rules include the tray reminder at 07:30, core block starts, and the end-of-day note at 17:00. Viewers get the Sunday highlights and call prompts by email.

Nap protection#

While a nap is running, Day-to-day reminders are held, up to four hours. Nothing is lost.

Read notifications#

Notifications in the tab bar or rail lists everything by day. Tap a row to open its screen. Mark all read clears the badge.

FAQ

Why can't I turn off in-app?

In-app is the record of what was sent and is always on. Turn off the other channels, or disable the rule.

Can a Day-to-day adult change their own rules?

Not from Settings, which is parents-only. A parent sets their rules on their card. They still receive everything in their Notifications tab.
