Share weekly highlights with grandparents
Create a private highlights link from Portfolio › Share, send it by email, and let grandparents record a story.
Goal: a weekly page for the grandparents, and their stories back. Parents only.
Create a link#
- Star the moments you want to share: photos and quotes in Portfolio, or quotes on the Language page.
- Go to Portfolio › Share.
- Tap Create weekly link. The link is copied. It allows viewing and story uploads and expires on the family's schedule (seven days by default).
Send it#
- Copy and paste into any message app.
- Send via email to every adult with the Highlights role. Invite grandparents that way first: see Invite an adult.
- Preview as grandparent opens the page as they will see it.
What they see#
This week with {child}: up to six photos with captions in Dhivehi and English, three call prompts to ask on the next call, and, if allowed, Record a story with a record button or an audio file upload of up to 20 MB. Their stories appear under Grandparents' stories in Library › Books & songs.
Automatic weekly link#
Every Sunday at 20:00 in the grandparent's own timezone, the app mints a fresh seven-day link and emails it to each Highlights adult. Nothing to do once they are invited.
Manage links#
Active links lists each link with when it was created, when it expires, and how many times it was opened. Tap Revoke to stop one, or Rotate link to replace the current one.
FAQ
Do grandparents need an account?
No. The link opens a page with six highlights, captions, call prompts, and a record-a-story panel. Inviting them as Highlights lets the app email them the link automatically.
What do they see?
Only the moments a parent starred, this week. Never the full record, never other families, and never after the link expires.
