Log a quote in any language

Goal: keep a quote in the words and language she used. Any adult.

Steps#

1. Tap She said on the block card, or tap + then She said.
2. Under Type exactly what she said…, type the words.
3. Check Language. It is detected from the text; when it is unsure it uses the block's language. Change it if needed.
4. Add Context if it helps ("at the water tray").
5. Optional: tap Translate to see a translation. Optional: switch on Add to portfolio.
6. Save. The toast shows the quote and how many new words were found. Undo is available for eight seconds.

What happens next#

• New words appear in Progress › Language › New-word inbox for a parent to approve, merge, or reject.
• The quote appears in the She said timeline on the Language page, on the block, and in Portfolio › Quotes if starred.
• The quote's language counts toward the week's exposure estimate.

Tips#

• One quote per language per week is the minimum that keeps the language record useful.
• Day-to-day adults with Voice-to-text on can long-press the button to dictate.
