How-to guides

Start, document, and close a project

Pick a project starter, fill the four quadrants as the weeks go, tag entries with the project, and close it to a portfolio page.

Start, document, and close a project

Goal: one inquiry at a time, documented as it happens. Parents only.

Start#

  1. Go to Library › Projects.
  2. Under Project starters, tap Start on one. If a project is active, confirm Archive & start.

The new project appears on Today as the Project card with this week's question.

Document as you go#

Open the project. The Documentation panel has four quadrants:

  • What we wondered, What we did, What we found: type a line and tap + add. Remove a line with its ✕.
  • What she said: fills itself from quotes tagged with the project. Starred quotes carry a ★.

The Media timeline shows photos tagged with the project. Tap Add photo to capture one straight into it.

Tag older entries#

A parent can link an existing photo or quote to the project from the entry (the project is the context when the capture happens during a project block, so most entries tag themselves).

Extend with the coach#

Tap Extend (Coach) to open the coach with the project pre-filled and ask for a next step grounded in what you have documented.

Close#

Tap Close → portfolio page. The project ends today and becomes a portfolio record with what you documented. It stays readable under Archive. The monthly review's last step offers the same close.

FAQ

Can two projects run at once?

No. Starting a new one archives the current one with its documentation intact.

What is a project starter?

One of twenty Reggio-style inquiries, such as water, shadows, ants, or wheels, each with a provocation, a question, a representation step, and a share step.
