What Yearkeep is

Yearkeep is a web app for the adults who raise a child from about age 2 to 6. Parents, grandparents, relatives, and anyone else who helps share one day plan, log what happened in a few taps, review together on Sunday, and keep a portfolio that becomes a yearbook.

It has five jobs:

1. Run the day from Today: the current block, who owns it, the script, the language, the materials.
2. Capture what happened: photo, quote, block done, mood, sleep, outdoor minutes, concern. Offline first.
3. Reflect and adapt: a two-minute daily review, a twenty-minute Sunday review, a monthly review, a birthday rewrite.
4. Manage the outside world: classes, people and playdates, places, trips, festivals, a calendar feed.
5. Keep the story: portfolio, month pages, project panels, ladders, a yearbook PDF, and highlight links for grandparents.

What it is not#

• Not a preschool app. It is sold to the family, and there is no centre, no billing, no attendance.
• Not a photo album. Photos are a by-product of a plan.
• Not a nanny log. There is no pay or hours tracking, and no surveillance of any adult.
• Not a child app. The child has no account and no screen time in it.
• Not a marketplace, a feed, or an ad network.

Who it is for#

Any household raising a child on purpose: a single parent; two parents; parents with a live-in grandparent, a relative who takes afternoons, or a helper who has the mornings; and the grandparents far away who want to see the week.

The stance underneath#

An evidence-led early-years approach: prepared environment, guided play, executive function as the spine, dialogic reading, documentation as assessment, a language input budget instead of lessons. The thirteen principles are on the public site's Approach page.

The name#

Yearkeep began as Foiy Home. Foiy (ފޮއި) is Dhivehi for book. A keep is a protected place. The day is run so that the year can be kept.
