How-to guides
Set language
Set the helper’s UI language and the child’s input budget in Settings.
There are two language settings. Do not mix them.
UI language (the adult)
- Open Settings › Account (yourself) or Settings › Adults (a helper).
- Pick English, Bahasa Melayu, Bahasa Indonesia, or Tagalog.
- Scripts and Today copy follow that language.
This does not change the language the child should hear.
Child-facing plan (the hours)
- Open Settings › Languages.
- Assign a language to each adult and each context (home, outdoor, book).
- Check the weekly forecast on Plan.
- Change owners before you add a class.
Screens do not count as language input unless a familiar adult is in a live call with the child.
If a heritage language has no street, over-weight it at home. See Heritage languages for the stance.
