How-to guides

Set language

Set the helper’s UI language and the child’s input budget in Settings.

There are two language settings. Do not mix them.

UI language (the adult)

  1. Open Settings › Account (yourself) or Settings › Adults (a helper).
  2. Pick English, Bahasa Melayu, Bahasa Indonesia, or Tagalog.
  3. Scripts and Today copy follow that language.

This does not change the language the child should hear.

Child-facing plan (the hours)

  1. Open Settings › Languages.
  2. Assign a language to each adult and each context (home, outdoor, book).
  3. Check the weekly forecast on Plan.
  4. Change owners before you add a class.

Screens do not count as language input unless a familiar adult is in a live call with the child.

If a heritage language has no street, over-weight it at home. See Heritage languages for the stance.
